1Do you allow dogs, cats, etc.?
We DO NOT allow any animals/pets on board any of the vessels.
2Where do I go to check-in for my charter?
Our boats are located at the Vinoy Marina & St. Petersburg Municipal Marina. We have staff at the marina daily between 9:00AM -5:00PM.

3Where can I talk to someone in person about chartering/sailing classes?
Our office is located at:

4What are your office hours?
Monday through Friday from 9:00AM to 5:00PM.
5What’s the best way to communicate on weekends or after hours?

6How far in advance should I book my charter/sailing class?
It is best to book your charter or class as soon as possible as reservations are based on availability at the time of booking. No charter or class is confirmed without the required deposit.
7What type of deposit is required?
A 25% deposit is required with the reservation and the balance is due upon arrival. For sunsets and ½ day charters, there is a 4-person payment minimum.
8Where can I find pricing?

9Is fuel included in our charter?
Fuel is included on sunset & ½ day sailing charters. The client is responsible for fuel on power boat charters as well as full day and bareboat charters.
10How long are full day charters?
A full-day charter is 8 hours. For bareboat charters, check in is at 9:00AM and check out is by 5:00PM.
11Do I need formal training to bareboat charter?
No, but we will need the skipper’s resume prior to booking the charter (link below). All bareboat charters require a briefing upon check-in. If your briefing captain doesn’t deem you qualified to bareboat, you will be required to hire one of our captains.

12What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to reschedule for any reason (personal, weather, or otherwise) you have one year to rebook with your deposit. If you elect to cancel entirely, you will be subject to a cancellation fee equal to 20% of the total charter amount.
13Where am I allowed to take the vessel?
Clients are allowed to take the boat to the designated destinations listed under the “Destinations” tab on our website. Destinations outside of the sailing zone are NOT permitted.
14What is the maximum number of people allowed?
The maximum permitted on any of our vessels is 13 people. For parties larger than 13 people, we have the JP Catamaran, which can accommodate up to 60 passengers.
15Do you allow fishing on board?
We can provide rod holders. Out of state fishing licenses can be purchased through the Florida Fish & Wildlife website. Please note that our vessels aren’t designed for fishing and it is not permitted on some. We do offer fishing charters as well. See “Fishing” tab on our website.
16What is included with the charter package?
All of the boats have color chart plotters and laminated charts for our cruising area. Your boat will have linens, towels, blankets, pillows, and galley ware. We provide cleaning supplies with a starter kit of paper towels and toilet paper. All safety equipment, including life vests (for people 30lbs and up) are provided. A BBQ grill with propane tanks is located on the stern rail of the boat.
17Is a dinghy included?
A dinghy with an outboard engine is available for $10/day or $60/week. Be sure to book the dinghy with your reservation.
18Will the dock staff help me dock the boat?
We have dock staff available 7 days/week from 9:00AM to 5:00PM and they will pull the boat out of the slip for you. Upon returning, the dock staff will meet you on a T-Head to assist you with docking.
19Do you provide a boat briefing the day of the charter?
A briefing captain is assigned to each charter. Your briefing captain will complete a full chart and boat briefing and will help you develop a float plan. The briefing captain will provide you with their contact information should you have questions during the charter.
20Do you provide any food or beverages?
Food & beverages are not included with the charter. You are welcome to bring whatever food & beverages you would like, except for red wine. The JP Catamaran does NOT allow outside drinks on board, but you are welcome to bring whatever food you would like.
21What time should I arrive for my charter?
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled charter to complete final payment & paperwork so you can depart on time.
22Is smoking permitted?
Smoking is only allowed in the cockpit area of the vessel.
23If I am arriving after hours, how do I access the marina & vessel?
You will receive late arrival instructions prior to your charter.
24Will I have a key to the marina gate?
We provide you with a key fob so you can come & go at your leisure.
25Where do I park once I arrive at the marina?
Parking in front of the marina on 5th Ave is free. If there is a special event scheduled (i.e. parade) the street is often shutdown to parking, so be mindful of any posted signage.

Sundial Parking Garage (click here for the website) is the best place to park for term charters and is located at 117 2nd St N, St Petersburg, FL 33701.

26How much should I tip the captain?
Standard gratuity is 18%-20%. Tipping is not mandatory but is greatly appreciated by the captains.
