How to Save Money on Boat Insurance
You just purchased that “DREAM BOAT” you’ve been contemplating for months on end. You have some experience on smaller vessels, but this is your first yacht! Exciting, right? Though I agree with the enthusiasm, the fact of the matter is that your lack of competence behind the helm of your new boat is costing you. How much? Between 5-15% a year! One class can save you over 5% or more on your boaters insurance policy “YEAR after BOATING YEAR”. Keep that money in your pocket and sign-up for our Recreational Powerboat Association (RPBA) certified, and National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) approved, courses.
The Recreational Powerboat Association was formed in 2009 in a direct response to the need for a NATIONAL boater education program that emphasizes a practical hands on approach. The RPBA emphasizes safety, knowledge and practice as the confidence-building cornerstones to promote the powerboating lifestyle. The classes stress that boaters have the knowledge, skills and experience needed to safely and confidently operate a vessel in a wide range of situations, and most importantly, these classes help your boaters insurance go down between 5-15% each year! The boater will pass both a written and underway exam. Why does this matter? Upon completion, you’ll gain the skills needed to get that reduce rate on your insurance premiums while you and your spouse/partner become a team; and this is where Sailing Florida comes in.
We have courses regarding the following: single inboard, single outboard, twin inboard, and stern drive outboard. Essentially, if it floats and has a motor, we have the course for you.
